ADITI SRIRAM runs the undergraduate Writing Program at Ashoka University, whose principal offering is “Introduction to Critical Thinking.” Owner of a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Economics from Columbia University (NY), and a Master’s in Creative Writing from The New School (NY), she brings international teaching experience from being former faculty at a New York State College, while having personal knowledge of the corporate world through her time at Accenture. Aditi’s first book Beyond the Boulevards: A Short Biography of Pondicherry was released in 2019, as part of Aleph Book Company’s series on Indian cities. Aditi also freelances for periodicals such as The New York Times and The Indian Express.
is currently a Senior Writing Fellow at Ashoka University. She contributes to the fortnightly column, “Nine Rasas”, in The New Indian Express and previously worked with the MHRD on a new comprehensive language policy for India
Dr. Devapriya Roy is currently a Senior Writing Fellow at Ashoka University. She read for a BA in English Literature from Presidency College, Calcutta, and obtained a first class and a gold medal. She followed that up with an MA in English Literature, and an MPhil and PhD in Theatre and Performance Studies, all from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She was an editor at Sahitya Akademi and Routledge, taught academic writing at JNU, and worked with the MHRD on a new comprehensive language policy for India. In her other life as a writer of fiction and narrative non-fiction, Roy has published three novels, has co-written a travel-memoir and a graphic biography, writes regularly for various national and international publications, and has a fortnightly column, “Nine Rasas”, in The New Indian Express.

Madhavi Menon is an eminent theorist and scholar of gender, sexuality, politics, and identity.
She joined Ashoka University in 2013 as one of its founding faculty members. She went on to establish the university’s Centre for Gender & Sexuality Studies (CSGS), which is the first of its kind in India. Previously, she was a professor at Ithaca College and American University.
Most prominently known for her work on queer theory and Shakespeare, she has also edited the collection Shakesqueer and written three books on Shakespeare and sexuality. She is also most recently the author of Infinite Varieties: A History of Desire in India and Law of Desire: Rulings on Sex & Sexuality in India.
In addition to being Director of CSGS, she is the Director of the Ph.D. programme in English and Professor of English at Ashoka University.
